The NYTEX Armed Forces Hockey Classic is an annual hockey tournament dedicated to supporting Active Duty Military and Veterans. Hosted at the NYTEX Sports Centre, this event combines competitive hockey with a mission that directly impacts those who serve.
Storm-Forged Alliance (SFA) an approved 501(c)3 is now the official producer of the event, ensuring all funds and donations remain local, directly supporting programs and families throughout the DFW community.
As the tournament approaches nearly 20 years of excellence, the event continues to build cohesion, camaraderie, and lasting friendships while creating a positive impact for the families of those who serve.
All registered players will receive new tournament jerseys for this year’s event.
These jerseys will remain the official tournament jerseys through the 2031 tournament cycle. Players may continue using their jerseys throughout the five-year cycle without needing to purchase new jerseys unless they choose to order replacements or additional sets.
Uniform numbers will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Players are encouraged to complete all uniform number preference questions during registration as early as possible. Assigned numbers will remain with players throughout the current five-year jersey cycle.
If players are curious about the new jersey designs, the main tournament registration photo includes a concept mock-up along with preview images of both the dark and light jersey versions that each player will receive.
Tournament jersey previews and updates will also be shared through official tournament and Storm-Forged Alliance social media channels.
The upper division will continue using the tournament’s traditional branch-based format.
Players competing at Mid-C level and above will be prioritized within their branch based on registration and payment timing. Every effort will be made to accommodate player branch preferences; however, some branches, particularly Marines and Army, historically fill quickly.
If necessary, overflow players may be assigned to other teams to ensure balanced rosters and full participation.
The lower division is designed for C-Lower level players and below.
This division will operate under a structured draft format that encourages comparable teams and creates a balanced, competitive experience for all participants.
The draft structure also reinforces the community-driven spirit of the tournament. Over the years, players have formed lifelong friendships and connections outside their branch through this format, carrying those relationships well beyond the rink.
Estimated tournament hours are Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, with the event expected to conclude no later than 1700 Sunday.
Final game schedules and additional tournament details will be released by August 1 through official tournament communications and social media channels.

Storm-Forged Alliance will also select local beneficiaries connected to the military and Veteran community, ensuring tournament funds and donations continue making a direct impact where they are needed most.
Through hockey and shared experiences, the tournament continues to foster camaraderie, resilience, and lasting relationships both on and off the ice.
Tournament updates, schedules, jersey previews, hotel information, and additional event announcements will be shared through official Storm-Forged Alliance and tournament social media channels and website.

Players may pay in full during registration or utilize available payment installment options through Google Pay.
